Four generations of our family celebrating Mom's 90th birthday

I recently flew to Kansas City to be with Mom and my brothers and their families. We had come together to celebrate Mom's birthday. This collection of portraits are a few of my favorites from the four days of festivities.

Jane Goodall was born on April 3, 1934. She's one year younger than Mom. I sent an email to Jane on her birthday. I mentioned mom's recent birthday. Appearing below is my email to Jane, and her reply 20 minutes later.

Dear Jane.

Happy Birthday!
I hope your special day was filled with joyful love and best wishes from all your friends and admirers. I recently flew to Kansas City to be with four generations of my family relations. We came together from all over the US to be with mom on her 90th birthday. 
Mom is a great-grandmother and she was so happy having all her kids home for her birthday. Here’s are two photos of mom that I took during the four days of birthday celebrating.

Dear Ron,
Thank you for birthday wishes.  Indeed, it was only the messages of love from all around the world that kept me going.  JGI exploits my b’day mercilessly, and I have been totally exhausted with lectures and interviews and meetings – but all the money goes to Gombe, so it is worth it!
As for your mother – she looks about 60, not a day older!
