"An Evening with Jane Goodall" at The Masonic on Nob Hill in San Francisco

On Friday October 11th, ethologist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, started off San Francisco's annual Wildlife Conservation Expo weekend with a special Friday evening talk at Masonic Auditorium. Here are a few of my photos from the sold-out event. After her presentation, I met with her and her close friends in the Green Room behind the stage.

A couple of weeks ago, while cleaning around the house, I found a beadwork that I had done 45 years ago when I was living in a tipi in Arkansas. The little beadwork is a Medicine Wheel, and I gave it to Jane as a gift, along with two small ivory-colored feathers. The feathers are carved from buffalo bone.

In 2014, Live Nation did a $7 million renovation of the Masonic. I was part of their project, and 40 of my photographs, 40x60 inches, printed on sheets of aluminum, are now permanately displayed throughout the building on the walls of the Masonic. Along with my photos, I also hung a 17 ft. long copy of the 1878 Muybridge panorama of San Francisco. The panorama is printed on seven panels of aluminum. I spent 10 days in Photoshop researching and adding 275 names to all the buildings and streets that I could identify.
